February 2009 Newsletter

Last Updated: March 29, 2017

Hello everyone.. I hope you've had the chance to get in some riding this season. We have had some pretty nice snowfall so far this year, definitely better than the past few years. Unfortunately, we've been having problems with the Sur-Trac groomer lately so we haven't been able to groom as much as we'd like to. It's been in the shop twice and hopefully we'll have it back this week and be able to hit the trails soon. The groomer guys have been doing a good job using just the LMC on the whole trail system though.

We had a large club ride scheduled for February 21st but unfortunately we've had to cancel that due to unforeseen insurance issues. It's a shame too because Cathy House worked really hard on setting the whole thing up. Thanks Cathy for all the hard work and effort you put into this. It would have been a really good time.

We will be holding a Hot Dog Roast on February 21st instead. We will be starting the Roast a 1:00pm and will run to about 10:00 pm. We will be serving free hot dogs, hamburgers and salt potatos. You will need to bring your own beverages though. There will be some snodeo sled games from 2:00-5:00pm with a bonfire starting at 6:00pm. It will be held at Bruce Butler's at the trail crossing at County Route 14 where the groomer is stored. We won't be going for a club ride but you are welcome to come and go as you please. The week of February 14th-21st is "Take a Friend Snowmobiling Week". Why not bring a friend to the hot dog roast and have some fun. It will be a great oppurtunity to meet the club officers and groomer operators. Come swap some snowmobiling stories and make some new friends or maybe see some that you haven't seen in a while. We look forward to seeing you there.

I'd like to give a shout out to Nick and Lee Torio to congratulate them on the birth of their grandson, little Max Alexander. Grandpa showed me some pictures at the informal meeting. He is so cute! Give him a big smooch for me!

ur next monthly meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 10th at 7:30 pm at RFH's Restaurant. This is open to anyone who would like to attend. We'd love to see some new faces. Come and join us won't you? Well, I guess that's going to do it for this month.. So until next time, take care and happy, safe snowmobiling to all!
